As we head into fall, I would like to encourage everyone to attend the CALA Conference ‘Embracing Change’ taking place Thursday, October 19th at Hotel Arts. As well as ensure you have been invited to one of your subsection meetings which are all commencing soon. Our subsection chairs are as follows if you need more information:
Human Resources Co-Chairs: Sarah Davidson and Robin Sivorot
Facilities Co-Chairs: Ron Yaworski and Amanda Noseworthy

I would like to thank Nayla Mawji (Finance), Vern Barnard (Facilities) who recently stepped down as subsection chairs and Patti Sinclair (Salary Survey Committee) Nyla, Vern and Patti have all been CALA volunteers for quite some time and their effort has not easily been replaced. Thank you again for your service.
I am proud to officially welcome our newest CALA executive members John Hawke, VP Education; Maureen Tremblay, Treasurer; and Kayleigh Evans-Irvine ‘keeping us organized’ Secretary. I look forward to working with you and each member of the Board.
I am happy to announce that CALA has once again received the 2023 Presidents’ Award of Excellence. The award is an honour bestowed by ALA to recognize Chapters for their effective and collaborative efforts to support ALA’s mission and goals. Each year CALA strives to provide extensive professional development opportunities and develop collaborative environments to empower our members to lead in the business of law.
I look forward to connecting with you all this year, please reach out to me if I can help.
Sincerely,
